Reimagining Black Male Educator Identity
Teaching was rarely imagined by Black male students as a viable or transformative pathway.
Black male educator identity was reframed as activism, intellectual leadership, and community stewardship, expanding the horizon of possibility for participants. Designing this inaugural high school fellowship experience, we enhanced storytelling competencies and community engagement, while repositioning representation as structural intervention rather than symbolic presence.
